A little extra – dust covers

My little ‘deceptive dust covers‘ tutorial is today being featured on Design*Sponge and I am so very excited.  I had been in contact with Kate from Design* Sponge, who wanted to post more stylized interior images of my dust covers, and I was more than willing to take more pics. Here’s two more pictures of my dust covers, integrated amongst my other books. Plus a painting that I love that my dad did. Squeee.

I like the new photo of you. 🙂

Congrats on being featured on Design Sponge thats awesome. Do you have her new book??? Love the dust cover project I had a look at your before and asfter post. Makes a huge difference. You would have a field day with my bookshelves 😛 it's like a rainbow of colours lol

As for a summer christmas you maybe mortified to find that some people head to the beach and have picnics, or BBQ's and instead of wearing layers of clothing it's summerwear. After having snow for the first time in years where we live for three days I could see why a winter christmas would appeal.

Holy cow! This is the most impressive project I've seen in a long time. I've been eyeballing the leather-bound classics at Barnes and Noble so I'd have some pretty books for my bookcase, but now I can take the "ugly" books out of the closet and display what I already have. You just saved me $300! I subscribed to your RSS too, we have similar tastes. I look forward to your future posts.

Janine – haha, it's an old pic. But I like it and I don't look crap in it, so it's staying. I have yet to pick up the new Design*Sponge book, gah! I'll be in town today, so I'll have to check it out.

Wintry {or rainy Irish} Christmas is all I've known, but I can see the appeal for beachwear and BBQ's. No one here in Ireland can drive in snow, so it can be a nightmare. Canadian winters are what I need.

Laurie – woah, thanks! That's the main reason I created these covers – so I could save money on buying new 'prettier' versions of books. I am a hardback girl though. My swaying shelves can vouch for it.

Ah You're so cute at the Timmy's.
If you ever get a craving, let me know your address, and I can fix it for ya.
Also saw your project on Decor8 – so exciting!
You make me want to get off my butt (and the internet) and craft something.

That's so sweet Mel 🙂 But for some strange reason, there are mini TH's shops in Dublin. They're tiny, and their donuts taste terrible, but once autumn/winter kicks in I'm in there like swim wear.

p.s. What makes you think I'm not on my butt right now?
