Dinosaur decor

Your website is always so serious and bogged down with intensely detailed and complex instructions, Alex“. I know, and for that I am sorry. This is a frequent complaint to plague my inbox. So in an attempt to keep it a bit lighthearted today and in honour of this week’s impending release of Jurassic World, I was hoping to share an upcycle project that just so happens to involve dinosaurs, but alas, I don’t have that project in a nearly photographable state just yet. So for now you’re just gonna have to put up with my bracletsaurus doing what he does best. Or she? I’d prefer ‘gender neutral dinosaur’.

I’m fully aware the new Jurassic World movie may be a shower of shite, but I still want to see it and I’ll still probably love it. The original was [and still is] one of my favourite movies. Even if it is preposterous to assume tyrannosaurus rex’s can’t see you if you don’t move, I will be there in my dinosaur sweater, whispering clever girl at every opportunity I can.

xx A

    But didn't you want to spray paint it?!?! 😉 I'm surprised it didn't get the Winegum treatment! Seriously love this storage solution, though. Could use a few dinos of my own!

      Hahaha, I am so tempted to spray paint it! But I couldn't decide what colour. I was thinking black, but now that you mention the luscious winegum … 😉

    Am I misunderstanding some sarcasm? I would say that a) no it's not and b) when you're doing a DIY you need the instractions necessary to get the result. Pins that tell you to washi tape something described with one photo will only ever be surface deep. You want better/more complex projects, you need more instructions. No free lunches!

      Oh Sarah, I'm afraid it was a bloody poor attempt at sarcasm on my behalf! But I will admit, I'm secretly loving that you're willing to fight my corner. Serious girl power!!! 😀 xx

      But while we're on the topic, I hate, hate, hate one photo tutorials! Unless it's super easy and can be explained in a couple of lines ("hold, spray paint, dry"), than there's no excuse and there should be a photo for every step, for the sake of people, myself included, who work better with visual cues. We'll show them, Sarah. Pictures FTW!

    Just discovered your blog via the Amara craft awards, and let out a (tiny*) woop when I spotted unicorns, dinosaurs, AND gorgeous interiors within one scroll of the page.! It's like I've died and gone to internet heaven… Looking forward to reading your entire archive 🙂

    * Not because I wasn't super-enthusiastic; I'm reading this in the library!

      Hahahaha, thank you so much Katie! I'm glad I was able to entertain you a bit in the library, even if it was on the down low. I don't think the dinosaurs will be going out of fashion in our home any time soon, but that unicorn. Unfortunately, I'ma have to save some more clams for that tasty number. One day. One day it will be mine.

      Thanks again for your lovely message Katie 🙂
