Lately …

… I’m feeling a smidgen more relaxed this week. In a blind panic, I ran around after work like a crazed woman and crossed a good amount off our list last week. Our countdown is now in SINGLE DIGIT WEEKS, so excuse me while I have a moment. You can’t hear it, but I just screamed. Excitement, and a lot of nerves.

I ordered this amazing black and white stripe ribbon from Press Gang Supplies over on Etsy. 5 meters of excitement. All of which will be used on bouquets, buttonholes and whatnot …

Ceremony bubbles, and lots of them. Not sure if we’ll use these though. Kids + bubbles + sticky hands + moms new dress might = a lot of not so happy parents … Your thoughts?

We also finally got our Russian VISA’s in order. It took us three attempts before our applications were approved = an extra three scoops of stress.

We also got stamps for our invitations – another minuscule detail to remember. My dad told us about the limited addition {typical Irish weather} wedding stamps. Side note – our wedding invitations arrived today! I am going to pee, they’re so awesome. I will be dedicating an entire post to their fabulosity.

And another thing not usually remembered until the last minute – you gotta smell good on your big day. Fiance and I happen to both adore Paco Rabanne’s 1 Million and Black XS. We haven’t worn either fragrance in ages, so it will make extra special olfactory memories on the day ♥

Lately …

… we’ve been getting super close to getting the major components of our wedding crossed off our list, and it’s exciting. One huge thing for me is we ordered our wedding invitations! I’m going to get sick I’m so excited. When fiance and I met with Pretty as a Picture, we both gasped and pointed when we saw their Harbor Beach invitations. Hardcore awesome …

{like this, but different colours}. Want to know the best part? While browzing, we spotted a hydrangea monogram. I kept my mouth firmly shut. Fiance later said to me “you know, we can have the little hydrangea monogram on our invitations if you’d like? It would look really nice.” And that my friends, is the sole reason I am marrying that man.
So when ya’ll see our invitations with a hydrangea right in the middle, you won’t be thinking “that terrible woman, forcing her love of hydrangeas onto her invitations and not giving her fiance a say in the design”. Just getting the story straight.
We also got our flowering tea from Solaris Botanicals {individually sealed in foil below. I’m not a crack dealer} as well as our black and white paper bags …

Looking forward to exponential amounts of  nerding on the couch and getting our favours prepared for the big day. Very interested to see what people’s reactions will be to our parting gift. And a huge thank you for those of you who voted on whether or not they would be good souvenirs. The people have spoken.
And it wouldn’t be right if I didn’t share this last picture. I found this gem one day on my lunch break, struggling out of a very overgrown garden. Completely and utterly alone, just like Lydia.

Hope you’re having a happy Tuesday everyone 🙂 It’s quite shit and raining here in Dublin. No surprise there.

Lately …

… there’s been a lot of organizing and planning all up in my face. I’m getting an exponential amount of excitement from crossing stuff off our big day list, but I’m super run down. I acquired a lovely dose of strep throat which has spiraled into a chest infection. All of which I’ve been told are due to stress.

So I need to do the following, or jump ship …

– Relax and learn to turn my brain OFF. Those of you who have organized something large, you know what I mean when I say it’s on your brain all the time. My mind is draining me.
– Craft with kitties. There’s a reason those two go so well together. Like wine and cheese.
– Read more. And I don’t mean via a machine.
– Go on Facebook less. What a shower of shite that place can be. If I spend more than 30 minutes on it, I get anxious. Less is more.

I am determined to start a yarn project within the next week. If any of you have any suggestions on how to turn your brain off, they will be lovingly welcomed with open arms!
