Image Interiors & Living – Ask the Experts

Today is turning out to be a pretty epic Thursday. Not only is it ludicrously sunny outside [PLEASE DON’T JINX IT], but the March / April issue of Image Interiors & Living is out now!
For the latest issue, I was asked by Nathalie to contribute some of my DIY knowledge towards the new ‘Ask the Experts’ feature.

I’m actually struggling to write something after that sentence. I’ve sat here at my desk for 30 minutes, trying to think of something profound to write when in all honesty I can’t even sentence. I’m just feeling very lucky / excited / humble / excited.

To be included along side the likes of Roisin [!!! major design crush], John and Peadar, I’m having big time feelings of just woah right now. I can’t wait for my mom to embarrass me in front of her coworkers for the duration of this issue.

Check out the full article in the current issue of Image Interiors & Living, which is available in all good newsagents now. xx A

Sunday Times – interior bloggers Christmas feature!

If you happen upon page 10 of today’s Sunday Times Christmas guide, you’ll find my big mug staring right back at you.

The lovely Dara got in contact with me a couple of weeks ago looking to feature our compact apartment in the Sunday Times’s interior bloggers Christmas feature. Myself and Siobhan Lam of April and the Bear were featured over a five-page spread and I’ve got to say, once I saw Siobhan’s home, I made the ugliest of ugly-crying faces. Her home is beautiful, trendy, stylish, creative, detailed and jaw dropping in general. It is a tough act to follow. But Bill Murray, my berry wall and I did. Even though we’re clearly not in the same league.

Happy Sunday, friends. I hope you have a chilled December Eve and indulge in a cheeky bit of something spiked xx A

Overheard in Dublin

The creators of Overheard in Dublin messaged me a couple of months ago. “Listen, Alex. This is really tough thing for us to say, so we’re just going to come out and say it. We can’t include your quote on the cover along with a picture of you and your cats like we previously planned. Unfortunately, we also can’t include it in the forward. People will catch on. We’ve had to take special precautions to throw people off, and so we’ve decided to include your feature on page 88. We hope you’re okay with that“, and I was. Because I’m cool like that. I agreed to put my Peppa Pig quote [thanks to an incredibly hungover father in Tesco one morning] on page 88 of their new book so not to make everyone else wildly jealous of my latest feature. It would have been far too obvious otherwise. I’m just down to earth like that.

Husband read through the new book last night and had a good few chuckles. That is, assuming he was reading my contribution over and over. If you’re related to me, you can expect a signed copy for Christmas. You’re welcome.
