Lately …

There’s been a whole helluva lot of this going on in the hand region …

I usually don’t mind, except it looks bad when you have an office job. Unimportant note – I’ve noticed the polish on my left hand wears down faster than my right, even though I’m right handed.

On the home front, I picked up these RAMSTA lights from IKEA that are shaped like glitzy diamonds. I got them to keep some cheer now that the holidays are over and our decorations are down. I’m stuck as to where to hang / put / dump these though. Any suggestions? Your experience / thoughts will be warmly welcomed.

Recently the below tremendous monster has been taunting me. I first crept the Marks & Spencer Conran Large Cloche in store a couple weeks before Christmas. But it was €80, and I wasn’t prepared for that. Plus, these things are massive. Like, the size of your torso massive. But, I needs.

Then, I was minding my own business on the internet, when what should appear on the sidebar but an M&S ad for the cloche, telling me it was reduced from €80 to €52. I remained strong. A week later, it popped up again. Cloche is further reduced to €39. I’m giving it until next week, and if there are any left, I will make like Gollum and snatch up some precious.

And lastly, the other day I took the Stylescope Quiz {thanks to a heads up from Sadie & Stella}. I’m always curious when it comes to something being able to ‘define’ a person in 5 steps, but, I don’t think I can complain here. My result was pretty accurate …

The quiz guesstimated I was a socialite with a hint of new country. I was quite thrown off at the socialite label. But then I read their definition …
Socialite – “Brilliant textures and layers, pops of rich colours like deep plums and magenta’s, and high end, lavish touches at every turn.”
I’m willing to accept this witchcraftery.

At long last, it has arrived! I was like a giddy school child when our Karlsson flip clock was delivered last week, where I was distracted for a full 10 minutes at my desk, flipping all the flaps.

But what broke my heart – once I told husband I had ordered said clock two weeks ago, he fessed up and told me he was planning on ordering it for me for Christmas. Queue avalanche upon avalanche of guilt. My heart is still sore. He’s so sickly thoughtful.

The clock looks tres teeny and out of place up on the shelf. Also, from that height everything is reflected in it, especially when you’re on the couch. I’m thinking of hanging it below the shelf, next to the tv, which completely eliminates light reflection. P.s. sorry for the shoddy graphics today folks. I’ve been too pooped to dedicate time to Photoshop this past week. P.p.s. Batteries are to this clock as cocaine is to Charlie Sheen. It literally eats them by the pound.
I had recently been on the hunt for a new bag. This is probably not a big deal for regular ladies, but considering my bag for the past two years was a €2 charity shop find, I needed something a little more ‘grown up’. However, it turns out I am picky as fuck. It took me three weeks and just as I was giving up, this little burgundy number c/o Mischa Barton popped up. Yes please.

I couldn’t not post a picture of these IKEA Margareta slippers. All I will say is don’t be so quick to judge. They are literally duvets for your feet. Seriously. Perfectly reserved for couch snuggling for this time of year.

And lastly, a bit of bling. I’ve been a bit obsessed with this cardigan clip from New Look. It makes me feel like a fancy librarian. I had something similar to this installed in my chest a couple of years ago {microdermal implants}. I’ve been contemplating writing about them. They were basically {semi} permanent jewelry, except my skin rejected them after a year. But that’s a story for a different day …

Well homies, I’m feeling a little under the weather, so I’m looking forward to heading home after work and sticking some girly Christmas movies on – The Holiday, Bridget Jones, or Love Actually. Plus a massive bowl of something yummy.

Coming up …

It’s taking a little longer than expected, but I’m slowly working away at our living room revamp. If I could, I’d pick up the IKEA Stockholm Rand rug as I’d love to get that added to our living space, but alas, we don’t have a car, and something tells me I would rather drive dull spoons into my eye sockets than lug that thing over two bus routes, through Dublin, in order to get it home.
BUUUUT, until we bum a lift off an unsuspecting victim, I have stifled my design thirst with my most recent purchase. It’s a biggie for me, and I want it to hurry the hell up and get here already. It’s only the Karlsson flip clock …

24.5cm² of silver, flippy goodness. Om nom nom. I expect this to happen to my facial region whence the packaging is torn open …

I will shit a kitten. And yes, I foresee myself waiting until the stroke of midnight, much like a giddy child on Christmas eve, waiting in anticipation for all the flips to flap.

When the lord giveth, he also taketh away, in the form of one of our cats decided to reorganize our living room while we were in work this week. Husbands birthday present this year – a watercolour of the Dude’s cardigan by moi. Sad face. I suppose, another excuse reason to go to IKEA! p.s. Kitties are unscathed, just a little startled.

But until then, I hope to get some sweet, sweet posts sorted this weekend for some {hopeful} goodness next week.

I’m also contemplating decorating our home this weekend for the holidays. But, every fiber of my being is screaming, telling me it’s too early. Last year we decorated on the 1st of December, but by New Years, I wanted my apartment back, so I’m hesitating this year to decorate too early. BUT for sure, there will be some Christmas crafting going down this weekend.

Later homies!
